Obituary

Loving Daughter, Mother, Mimi

Our family is heartbroken by the passing of Sandra "Sandy" Marie Lyon on August 3, 2022 after a brief illness. She passed at the age of 81 peacefully with her children by her side. She is survived by her beloved longtime partner Barry Boyle of North Billerica, formerly of Tewksbury. Sandy was preceded in death by her daughter Tia Lyn Rupp.

Born in Winchester, MA, on July 16, 1941, she was the beloved daughter of the late Clayton "Doc" Lyon and Gertrude (Cox) Lyon. She was raised in Woburn, MA, where she attended school. Sandy was preceded in death by her siblings Clayton Lyon, Gertrude Lyon, and Donald Lyon.

Sandy had many lifelong friends and if you were lucky enough to have met her, you instantly became family. She will be remembered as a very caring woman with a colorful sense of humor. You could call on her at any time and she would listen and always make you smile. Along with a beautiful soul, Sandy was a woman who prided herself in the way she looked (lipstick perfectly applied and her hair always in place). When she was not spending time with family and friends, one of Sandy`s favorite pastimes was to visit Foxwoods Casino with her longtime companion Barry.

In addition to her partner Barry, she is survived by her children Dennis J. Rupp of Nashua, NH, Kimberly J. Thomas and her husband Kurt of Peterborough, NH, Cheryl L. Rupp of Fitchburg, MA, and Denise H. Rupp of Peterborough, NH. She also leaves nine grandchildren who lovingly call her Mimi/Grammy, Kristopher Rupp, Kayleigh Rupp, Joshua Thomas, Jayme Rotondi, Benjamin Rupp, Heather Rupp, Joelle Wuilleumier, Matthew Thomas, and Nicholas Thomas. As well as thirteen great-grandchildren, Jaxson and Talon Rupp, Dalton and Tucker Rupp, Grayer and Wrenley Thomas, Ophelia and Evengia Thomas, Hayden Thomas, Addilyn Rich, Juliet, Gabriel and Raphael Wuilleumier, along with many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend a funeral service conducted in the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Family Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St., Woburn, Wednesday, August 10th, at 11 a.m. and visit with the family prior to the services from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Services will conclude with burial at the Wildwood Cemetery in Wilmington, MA.
