Obituary

Our mother Irene A. DeMarco of Milton, MA, passed away on August 2 the day after she turned 96. She lived a long and remarkable life.

Irene was born in 1926 in Worcester, MA, to Phillippe and Juliette (Cloutier). She had three sisters, Victoria, Violet, and Doris. And two brothers, Robert and Rudy, who all predeceased her. She enjoyed summers at their family home on Lake Quinsigamond. At 16, she left school to weld anchor chains at St. Pierre Chain company during WWII.

She married Patrick R. DeMarco in 1948. Together they raised seven children. She is survived by her three daughters, Diane, Camille, and Michelle, and three sons, Douglas, Mark, and Patrick, and her grandchildren Jason, Sam, Jake, Sarah, Caleb, and Bella as well as many beautiful nieces and nephews.

Her love for life matched her love for her children and grandchildren. She will be remembered as a woman with a delightful sense of humor, quick wit, endurance, and great acceptance.

Our brightest star has been extinguished but will continue to glow as our guiding light throughout our lives.

Family and friends will gather at St Paul’s Cemetery in Warren, MA, at 1 p.m. on Friday, August 12; a Life Celebration will follow at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Lewy Body Dementia Association.
