WORCESTER - Leonard (Louis) F. Syriac, 68, of Brooks Street Worcester passed away on Saturday May, 13, 2006, after a long illness at UMASS Medical Center with his family and friends by his side. The son of the late Leonard (1915-1984) and Olivine (Trombley) Syriac (1919 –2000) of Palmer. Leonard is survived by his brother, Richard Syriac Sr. and his wife Daisy (Dodge) Syriac of Summerfield, FL, their three children Marjorie Dunham, Richard R. Syriac Jr. and Steven A. Syriac: His sister Joanne Sayers of Clover, SC. And Her three sons David Sayers, Michael Sayers and William Sayers: his Brother Edward Syriac of Colorado and his children Wyatt Syriac and Crystal Syriac: his Girlfriend Kathy Moen of Fort Lauderdale FL: His longtime friends Roger, Robert, and Anna, and all of the great people at Matson Community Services. Leonard was born in Ludlow on April 18, 1938 and attended Ludlow and Belchertown schools. A former resident of Belchertown, he was a member of the St. Francis Church before moving to Worcester. Leonard’s passions were playing his harmonica as well as his music and clock collections. He spent many years collecting vinyl records and cassette tapes and DJing for many special events. He will be fondly remembered sitting on his porch for hours while listening to his music and smoking his pipe. Len always enjoyed spending time with his many friends and making his daily rounds walking around the city of Worcester. The funeral services will be held at Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street, on Thursday, May 18, at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family at South Cemetery in Belchertown, Ma.
