Shapleigh, Jenise R Martin 62, passed away July 30, 2022 surrounded by her daughters after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Portland, Maine June 18, 1960. She is the second of 5 children of late Joseph and Joanne Martin.
Jenise was preceded in death by sisters Lenora Nichols , Charity Martin of Portland, granddaughter Sandrea McDermott of Farmington , Joshua Fournier of Sanford, and companion of thirty years Clement Fournier of Shapleigh.
Jenise is survived by her large and extended family. Daughters Katrina Metcalf and Brandy Gonzalez of Sanford, son Eugene McDermott of Jasper's Florida, stepsons Sean, Joey and Jeffrey Fournier of Sanford, Sisters Vicky Rollins, Cindy Reid, Deborah White, brother Joseph Martin, many nieces, nephews and of course her 16-year-old cat Kitty.
A single parent, dotting grandmom, involved and compassionate until her last moments. She enjoyed gardening, building bird houses, sewing, and figuring out how things work. She never stopped moving.
Everyone who knew her understood her to be fierce, unintimidated, determined, outspoken, open minded, loving cheerleader, dedicated to her family.
Her greatest treasures were her grandchildren Joshua, Walter, Kassadi, Skye, Sandrea, Samantha, Makenzie, Rhyleigh, Autumn, Nadia, Logan, Haley, and Myles.
At Jenise request there will be no graveside memorial. She will be laid to rest with Clement at Highland Grove Cemetery in Shapleigh Maine. A celebration of life to be announced
