Laura R. Morancey, 92, of Sebille Road, Smithfield, died Sunday, July 31, 2022 at HopeHealth Palliative Care in Providence. She was the widow of Charles H. Morancey, Sr. who died in July, 1995.
Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Henry and Marie (Boyd) Rea. She had most recently lived with her daughter, Sandra Truppi and her husband, Victor in Johnston.
She had worked as an assembler at the former Welcher’s Manufacturing many years ago. She retired from the Providence Gas Company as a supervisor in the cafeteria
Her favorite hobby was doing puzzles.
Besides her daughter, Sandra and her husband, she is survived by her grandchildren: Victor R. Truppi, Kristine Truppi, Kelly, Joel, Nicole and Charles Morancey, her great grandchildren: Justin, Gianna and Jarrod and her siblings: Lila Mottram of Warwick and Harry Rea and his wife, Alice of Cranston.
She was the mother of the late Linda, Charles, Jr. and Stephen Morancey and sister of the late Lillian “Tootsie” Robbio.
Her funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11am in Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Rt 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Visitation Wednesday morning, 9-11am. Burial will follow at Highland Park, Johnston.
