Donald Crawford, 77, of 133 South Broad Street, Stonington Arms, Pawcatuck, passed away Saturday at Pendleton Healthcare in Mystic.
Don was born in Attleboro, MA on August 24, 1928 the son of Elliot and Vivian Crawford. Raised in New London and New Haven, he had been a resident of Stonington since 1944.
He was employed for many years as a commercial fisherman, working out of Stonington Harbor. He retired in 1994.
He was a member of the Southern New England Fishermen & Lobstermen’s Association, The Westerly Lodge of Elks, and the Westerly Yacht Club.
Survivors include a son, Donald M. Crawford of Pawcatuck and a daughter, Brenda A. Crawford of Ledyard. He was predeceased by his wife, Harriet (Moody) Crawford.
Don’s family will greet relatives and friends at The Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl Street, Historic downtown Mystic on Thursday from 6-7pm.
In accordance with Don's wishes, there will be no service. His family will gather privately for the disposition of his cremains.
