Olive S. Carvalho, 81

Olive Carvalho formerly of Dighton Ma passed away peacefully, at the home of her daughter Carol Segura, on Tuesday, July 26, 2022 in TN.
She was born in 1940 to John and Olive (Sousa) Frizado in Taunton, MA. Olive was a member of St Joseph’s (renamed to St Nicholas of Myra) Catholic Church of North Dighton, MA. She received the Marion Award for service to her church community. She was a Sunday school teacher, office volunteer, Eucharistic minister, Women Guild member and was on the finance committee. Olive was a long-time member of the American Legion Post 121 in Berkley, MA.
Olive worked primarily at Swanks as a belt packer. She was also a member of St Ann Seton Catholic Church in Tennessee Ridge, TN and enjoyed live local music events and spending time with friends at the local seniors centers. Olive had a green thumb and enjoyed tending her plants as well as crocheting and reading. Her sweet soul and spirit will be missed by family and friends alike.
In addition to her parents, Olive is preceded in death by her husband Joseph Carvalho Jr of 41 years and brother Charles Frizado. She is survived by her daughters, Carol (Hector)Segura of Tennessee, Gail (Jeff) Hayes of Rehoboth, MA, and Susan Nunes of Somerset, MA, son Joseph (Selma) Carvalho of Maryland, brothers John, Joseph, James, Raymond, Richard, and Michael as well as sisters Diane, Joanne and Debra. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, John, Steven, Katrina, Allyson, Jessica, Jacqueline, Steven, Christopher, Kerrie, Bryan, Kevin, Katie and Kyle, and 12 great grandchildren.
