Obituary

WORCESTER-Iris L. “Lorraine” (Lockwood) Lavine, 77, of 31 Stoneland Road, died Sunday, May 14th, in the Hospice Residence at Coes Pond, surrounded by her loving family. Her husband of 50 years, Bernard G. Lavine, died in 1998. She leaves two sons, Ronald B. and his wife Joyce Lavine of Spencer and Bruce G. and his wife Pam Lavine of Oxford; a daughter, Debra A. wife of Rich McGrail of Worcester; a brother, Elliott D. Lockwood of Holden; eight grandchildren, Todd and his wife Kelley Lavine, Tina and her husband Shawn Baillargeon, Eric Lavine, Beth Lavine, Scott McGrail, Kelli McGrail, Sean McGrail, and Louis Cote; four great grandchildren; nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by a brother, Kenneth Lockwood.
She was born in Worcester the daughter of George D. and Ida C. (Nyberg) Lockwood and graduated from South High School. Lorraine worked with her husband in their cleaning business for over 35 years. She was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church. Her greatest pleasure was being a loving mother and grandmother. The family would like to thank the staff and volunteers at the Hospice Residence at Coes Pond for keeping Lorraine laughing and smiling with peaceful blessings.
The funeral is Wednesday, May 17th, with a service at 10:00 AM in Epworth United Methodist Church, 64 Salisbury Street. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery. Calling hours are Tuesday, May 16th, from 5:00 until 8:00 PM in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to VNA Care Network & Hospice, 120 Thomas Street, Worcester, MA 01608.
