Obituary



Clarence G. Ellison of Brockton, MA, formerly of Stoughton, passed away peacefully on July 24, 2022 after a long period of failing health. Born in Latrobe, PA on August 20, 1929, Clarence was the son of Gussie and Clarence Ellison. He was raised in Pittsburgh and graduated from Westinghouse High School from where he went on to attend the then Wilberforce College and become an Omega Man, pledging Omega Psi Phi Fraternity in 1950.

Clarence retired from the United States Army holding the rank of Sargent Major after 25 years of distinguished service. He served in both the Korean and Vietnam Wars and earned many awards that included the Bronze Star, the Army Commendation Medal with two Oak Leaf Clusters, and the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with one Palm.

Clarence is survived by his wife Darhl O. Ellison. He was the loving father of Wendy Jo Ellison, and Pamela Lester (Wayne), the proud grandfather of Yalanda, Latoya, and Vaughn Lester, Vanessa Simms (Anil), Phylicia Dorceus (St Jean Shawn) and one great- grandchild. Clarence was predeceased by his first wife, Catherine A. Ellison.

Family and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Monday August 1, 2022 from 3-4:30 p.m., Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street, Brockton, MA. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 4:30 p.m. Burial will be in Knollwood Cemetery, Canton, MA, on Tuesday, August 2 at 11a.m. A funeral procession will leave from the Conley Funeral Home at 10:15 a.m.
