Thomas C. Saluti, better known as “Tom" to those who knew and loved him, born August 5, 1949 In Boston, MA has gone to heaven on July 17, 2022. He most recently resided at Sunrise Senior Living of Braintree, MA. Beloved husband of the late Patricia Walker whom he married on July 12, 2008 and lived with in Sharon, MA since. Also, former husband of the late Linda Gay-Saluti.
Father of Jenny Lynn and her husband Kevin Freeman of NC and Alan Saluti of MA. Stepfather of Kyle Walker and his wife Michelle Walker of RI, Jairo Walker of MA and Daniel Walker of NV.
Beloved brother of Linda Smollett and her companion Marty Brown of MA, Gregory Saluti and his wife Darlene Saluti of MA, Stephen Saluti of MA and Cheryl McGann and her husband Daniel McGann of MA. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and longtime friends.
Thomas grew up in Quincy, MA and graduated from North Quincy Highschool. He enlisted into the United States Army and proudly served for six years. While serving, Tom supported his mom and family financially. Post discharge, he was employed as a groundskeeper by the City of Quincy Cemetery Department for forty years. Tom was the eldest of his four siblings and held a special place for all of them, even walking his youngest sister, Cheryl, down the aisle on her wedding day. The two held a very close and special bond throughout the years.
Thomas was an easy going and likeable gentleman. He coached little league baseball in his younger years and enjoyed home cooking and traveling the world with Patricia in his later years. He gave a great deal back to his community by volunteering at Father Bill’s Place in Quincy and building homes with the Habitat for Humanity after hurricane Katrina. Thomas was an active parishioner at the First Congregational Church in Sharon, MA.
Tom will be missed by all who knew him, may he rest in peace.
A private memorial and burial service will be held at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, MA on Tuesday, August 2, 2022.
