OXFORD___Walter Czapnik, 77, of Oxford, died peacefully at home on Saturday July 23, 2022.
He leaves, three sons, Robert Koztyla of Worcester; Derek Czapnik of Texas and Slawek Czapnik of Oxford; six grandchildren, his wife, Maria Czapnik and he also leaves relatives in Poland. Walter was born in Kozieniec, Poland a son of the late Stanislaw and Zofia (Kacperska) Czapnik and came to the United States in 1989.
Mr. Czapnik was a welder and worked for a hospital equipment manufacturing company before retiring. He was a skilled handyman who could build chairs and just about anything he put his mind to. He enjoyed reading and studying history, especially the 20th Century , World War I and World War II. He loved telling stories about history to his grandson. He also enjoyed movies and when he was younger he liked to go fishing.
His funeral will be held on Thursday, July 28, 2022 from HENRY – DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward Street, Worcester with a Mass at 11:00 AM in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward Street, Worcester. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Garden of Peace Cemetery, Webster. A calling hour will be held on Thursday, July 28, 2022 from 9:30 to 10:30 AM in the funeral home.
