Karen E. Green, 58, of Derry, NH, died Saturday, May 13, 2006 in her home. Mrs. Green was born in Medford, MA on May 1, 1948, a daughter of Marion (Boyce) Ritchie and the late William Ritchie. She was a resident of Derry since 1976. She was employed as a manager for Kershaw's Quick Stop in Derry. Raised in Medford, she was a graduate of Medford High School, Class of 1966. Mrs. Green had been a substitute teacher at Derry elementary schools for a number of years. She enjoyed ceramics, scrapbooking, and collecting Thomas Kincaid village paintings. Her pride and joy were her three cats, Shadow, Holly and Smokey, and her dog Kasey. She was a devoted mother.
In addition to her mother of Medford, MA, she is survived by her husband of 33 years, William J. Green of Derry, her daughter, Kimberly Gardner and husband William of Derry, two sisters, Susan Palmieri of Nashua, NH, Patricia Plaziack of Quincy, MA, two nieces and one nephew.
Calling hours were on Wednesday, May 17, 2006 from 4 - 8pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. Funeral services were held on Thursday, May 18th at 10:00am in the funeral home. The burial followed in the Forest Hill Cemetery in E. Derry.
