Obituary

Virginia (Stevens) Makol, age 100, of North Miami Beach, Florida passed away on July 17, 2022 at the Aventura Hospital in FL. She was born on Feb. 18, 1922 in Torrington, CT, a daughter of the late Louis and Wacelia (Charles) Stevens. She was born to large family which she lived until she married. She lived in Springfield, MA when she first was married. In 1958, they moved to North Miami Beach, FL to make their new home. She married Dr. James George Makol and had three children. George Makol, Linda Makol Davidson and Randi Makol. She was predeceased by her late husband Dr. James Makol, a brother Fred Stevens and her sisters Marie White, Alice Fuleihan, Lillian George and Sue Gustin. Virginia was a stay-at-home mom and a perfect example of how to raise children, making sure they felt loved. Our home was always open to relatives and friends. She was always baking and cooking in our home. She taught us the value of family. We know how fortunate we were to have her for so many years. Mom is survived by her children: Dr. George Makol & Debbie Makol of Tucson AZ, Linda Makol & Dale Davidson Hollywood, FL and Randi Makol North Miami Beach, FL. Virginia leaves one Grandchild Michelle Makol of Tucson, AZ. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, July 30, 2022 at 11:00 AM in the St George Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 22 St George Rd, Springfield, MA followed by burial in Fairview Cemetery, Chicopee.
