Claire graduated in 1965 from Jesus Mary Academy of Fall River, for which she remained active with the alumni. She worked as a secretary for the majority of her working years at various places throughout the area. In her younger days, she was employed at K-mart and Somerset Records, both in Fall River then Edwards Motor Lines in Westport. She later held a 30 year position in the pharmacy at St. Annes Hospital, where she retired from in the early 2000’s. Claire was a long-time bowler of the Westport Womens’ Bowling League at the Holiday Lanes; member of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit James Morris Post #145. She was an associate member of the Westport VFW Post #8502, where her husband the “Cap” had been recently named Senior Vice Commander just prior to his passing earlier this spring.
Claire will be lovingly remembered by the nickname her grandkids gave her over 20 years ago, “Memere Bubbles'' as she had a bubble making-machine in the front yard. Many people thought it was because of her bubbly personality, beautiful smile & great laugh. Claire was a social butterfly & would think nothing of driving 2 hours to a favorite place to shop or have dinner. Locally, she could be found at the Kozy Nook, Kathy’s, or Westport VFW. Claire was loved & admired by everyone she met and wanted to personally extend her thanks to everyone for their love & support over these last few months.
