Roland L. Clement, Sr. 88 of Attleboro formerly of Mansfield died on Friday May 12, 2006 at the Ridgewood Court Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Attleboro, MA He was the beloved husband of Ethel E. (Padelford) Clement to whom he was wed to for the past 63 years.
Born in Fall River, MA on April 6, 1918 he was a dear son of the late Eubaldie and Aurore (Deshais) Clement.
He was educated in Fall River Schools. He served in The United States Army during WWII in the European Theater. He was honorably discharged with the rank of 1st Sergeant.
Roland had worked at the Brockton Veterans Medical Center as the Chief of Fire and Safety. He retired after 30 years of service in 1973.
While residing in Attleboro he was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Church and was a former communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Mansfield. He enjoyed playing golf and spending time with his family. He had lived in Atttleboro for the past 8 years and was formerly of Mansfield for 21 years.
Besides his beloved wife Ethel he is survived by his devoted son and daughters Roland L. Clement, Jr. and his wife Elizabeth of Attleboro, Ethel E. Carl and her husband Edward of Mansfield, Pauline A. Paiva and her husband Donald of Mansfield and Mabel F. Noles and her husband Larry of Georgia. His brother Raymond Clement of Fall River. Also survived by his loving 12 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.
His funeral, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Wednesday May 17th at 9:30 A.M. from the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home 55 North Main St. Mansfield followed by a mass of Christian burial celebrated at 10:30 A.M. in St. St. Mary’s Church, 330 Pratt St. (Route 106) Mansfield. Burial with military honors will follow at The Pleasant St. Cemetery, Raynham
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday May 16th from 5-8 P.M. at the funeral home
