Jennie (Xypteras) Pekkanen of Hull passed away on July 10, 2022, at the age of 61. Jennie was born, raised, and educated in Newton, MA and graduated at the early age of 16 from Newton South High School. After completing high school Jennie attended Evangel College in Springfield Missouri graduating with her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. Once completing her college education Jennie moved to the Boston area and then eventually Hull where she spent the rest of her time. Jennie worked as a teacher at a private school in Boston then later on as a substitute teacher for Hull High School.
Jennie was a devout Christian and member of the Greek Apostolic Church in Brookline. She enjoyed basketball, swimming and playing piano in her younger years and entertaining her family and friends at her home in her later years. She grew very close to her Hull community and will be missed by all who knew her.
Jennie was the daughter of Triantafylos and Lydia Xypteras. Beloved wife of the late David G Pekkanen and loving mother of the late TJ Pekkanen, David J Pekkanen, Lydia Pekkanen and her partner Alexander Johnson of Hull. She was the aunt of Tony Xypteras, grandmother of Joshua Papasodero and the cherished sister of George Xypteras of Hull and the late William Xypteras.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a graveside service for Jennie at the Hull Village Cemetery on July 22, 2022 at 1PM.
