Julie Marie Johnson passed away on Friday, June 17, 2022 after a brief illness. Born and raised in Providence, RI where she resided until 2004, she was the daughter of the late Charles A. Johnson and Joyce J. (Scalise) Johnson.
Julie was a 1989 graduate of Mount Pleasant High School where she was able to use her passion for music to excel to the Head of the MPHS Drum Corp. Julie grew up in a sports-loving family, which is where she became an avid fan of professional boxing. She loved movies, current events, and pop culture, but she would often brag that her heart was full because of her love for her family.
Julie is survived by the love of her life and partner for over 30 years, Luiz Martinez of New York. She also leaves her two cherished siblings, brothers-in-law, nieces and a nephew: sister Jodi A. (Johnson) Duclos of North Providence, her husband Jason and their daughter Sydney; sister Jacki L. (Johnson) Ortez of Warwick, her husband Vincent and their children Victoria and Alexander. She also leaves two great-nieces, Lily and Violet Ortez, her maternal aunt and Godmother, Marie Tavano, maternal uncle Francis Scalise and several cousins.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 3rd from 4pm-6pm followed by memorial service at 6pm at the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Rt 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville, RI. We respectfully ask that face masks are worn during the visitation. Burial will be private.
