Janice M. (Sullivan) McGuinness, 58, of Norton died on Friday May 12, 2006 at The Miriam Hospital in Providence, Rhode Island after a brief illness. She was the beloved husband of Thomas E. McGuinness to whom she was married to for the past 35 years.
Born in Boston, MA on August 11, 1947 she was a dear daughter of the late Frank A. and Barbara (Kentley) Sullivan. She was also the daughter of the late Marjorie L. (McKinnon) Sullivan.
She was educated in Easton schools and was a graduate of The Peabody School in Norwood. She had worked as a Cafeteria Worker at the Norton Middle School for the past 10 years. She was also a former waitress having worked at the former Gondola Restaurant in Taunton.
She was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Norton. She was a member of The Ladies Auxiliary at The Norton VFW Post 8049. She enjoyed playing bingo, card games but especially she enjoyed being with her family and her new born granddaughter. She had made her home in Norton for the past 34 years and was formerly of Easton.
Besides her beloved husband Tom she is survived by her devoted children Shawn T. McGuinness, Amy B. McGuinness, Lauri A. McGuinness, Thomas F. McGuinness and Kerri L. McGuinness all of Norton. Her dear brother and sisters Francis G. Sullivan of Colchester, Conn., Barbara J. Pelletier of Norton, Paula A. Zito of Las Vegas, Nevada, Katherine A. Davis of Whitman, Donna J. Dionne of Norton, Judith E. Buswell of Norton, Bonny L. Luke of Easton and Mary Jane Ashe of Plymouth. Also survived by her cherished granddaughter Kaylee Malcolmson as well as her many nieces and nephews.
Her funeral, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Tuesday May 16th at 9:00 A.M. from The Norton memorial Funeral Home 19 Clapp St. (Off Route 140, Taunton Ave.) Norton followed by a mass of Christian burial celebrated at 10:00 A.M. in St. Mary’s Church, South Worcester St., Norton. Burial will follow in The Timothy Plain Cemetery, Norton.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday May 15th from 5-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
