Obituary

Walter F. Walsh of West Roxbury formerly of South Boston, passed away Friday, May 12th at his home surrounded by his family. He was 70. Mr. Walsh was born in Boston and was the son of the late Peter and Anna (Joyce) Walsh. He was a Korean War Veteran having served in the United States Army. He worked for the Boston Edison Company and he was a member of Boston Edison Local 369. He was also the retired Director of the Boston Edison Credit Union.

He was the beloved husband of the late Joan (Connolly) Walsh. He was the devoted father of Kathleen A. Decareau of Georgetown, MA, Timothy F. Walsh of Alexandria, VA, Eileen M. Hickey of Phoenix, AZ, Maureen W. Blagdon of Norton, Colleen J. Golden of Mansfield, Steven J. Walsh of Dedham, John J. Walsh of Jamaica Plain and the late Walter F. Walsh Jr. and Margaret R. Walsh. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He was the brother of Peter and Meg Walsh and Caroline Donovan of South Boston, Barbara Daly of Braintree, Ann McDonnell of Sandwich and the late Joseph and James Walsh and Maryellen Ryan.

His funeral will be held from the George F. Doherty & Sons Wilson-Cannon Funeral Home, 456 High St., Dedham, on Tuesday at 8:00 AM. A funeral mass will be celebrated in St. Mary’s Church, Dedham, at 9:00 AM. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Visiting hours on Monday from 4-8 PM. Interment in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, West Roxbury.
