WORCESTER___Alphonse A. Babkauskas, 87, of Worcester, died Friday May 12 in his granddaughter’s home. His wife, Nellie B. (Herbst) Babkauskas died in 1993.
He leaves a son, John A. Babkauskas, a daughter, Dolores Babkauskas and a brother, John Babb, all of Worcester; two grandchildren, Zarrina and Shawn, six great-grandchildren, Kayla, Laxia, Ryan, Mia, Kody and Kacy. He was born in Worcester, a son of John and Ann (Varkala) Babkauskas and lived here all his life.
Mr. Babkauskas owned and operated Ballard Auto Spring Works for many years and retired in 1983. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed woodworking and made many crucifix’s and music boxes.
The funeral will be held on Tuesday May 16 from HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward St, with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in St. Casimir Church, 41 Providence St. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours in the funeral home are Monday May 15 from 5 to 8 p.m.
