Robert A. Benjamin, 70, of Rochester died May 11, 2006 suddenly at Tobey Hospital.
He was the husband of Grace F. (Foster) Benjamin.
Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Edward and Noella (Caron) Benjamin, he lived in New Bedford before moving to Rochester 37 years ago.
Mr. Benjamin was a communicant of St. John Neumann Church where he served as a Eucharistic Minister.
He was formerly employed as a teller at Compass Bank for several years until his retirement. Mr. Benjamin was a former drummer with several local jazz bands.
He was an avid gardener.
Survivors include his wife; 2 sons, Mark Paul Benjamin and Matthew Benjamin, both of New Bedford; a daughter, Anne Marie Drake, and her husband Robert, of Ashland, MA; a brother, Norman Benjamin of New Bedford; a grandson, Scott Drake; a niece and a nephew.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass in St. John Neumann Church Saturday, May 13th at 10 AM.
Visiting hours Friday, May 12th from 4-7 PM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford.
