Mary M. (Sanderson) Molleo Sherman, 82, of New Bedford died Wednesday May 10, 2006 at St. Luke's Hospital after a courageous battle with lung cancer. She was the wife of the late Richard T. Molleo, Sr. and Dennis L. Sherman.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Samuel F. and Catherine (Neary) Sanderson, she lived in New Bedford all of her life. She was a graduate of Holy Family High School.
She was a communicant of Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish.
Mrs. Molleo Sherman was formerly employed as a waitress at Tavano's, Burt's Grille, Moby Dick Restaurant, and Davy's Locker, for 50 years until her retirement.
She enjoyed spending time with her family.
Survivors include three sons, Richard T. Molleo, Jr., and his wife Linda, and Peter Molleo, and his wife LouAnn, all of New Bedford, and Timothy E. Molleo, and his wife Sharon, of Arizona; a daughter, Cathryn Howland, and her husband Rick, of Dartmouth; nine grandchildren, Keith Molleo and his wife Marla, Timothy Molleo Jr., Alexander Molleo, Derek Molleo, Jason Molleo and his fiancee Jillian, Stephanie Molleo, Tammy Cote and her husband Robert, Kelly Bettencourt and her husband Paul, and Shaun Howland; and seven great-grandchildren, Riley, Cameron, Aidan and Colby Molleo, Brenna and Nicole Cote, and Madison Bettencourt.
She was the sister of the late Blossom Winsor and Eleanor Sanderson.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 9 AM in Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, followed by burial in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visiting hours Friday 4-8 PM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. Remembrances may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, P.O. Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101.
