Obituary

CANTON

Annie (Rudolph) DiMestico,80 died Monday at her home after a period of failing health.

Born in Plymouth, daughter of the late Jacob A and Emily (Campbell) Rudolph.

She was formerly of Whitman, Hanson and Florida, a graduate of Whitman High School and Brockton Business College, she also attended Bridgewater State College.

During WWII, Annie played bass in an all-girl band, entertaining at local dances. After marriage she raised her family in Hanson and on Martha's Vineyard, where her children graduated high school. She and her husband built a home in Pembroke before retiring to Florida. Upon returning to Massachusetts, she volunteered through Meals on Wheels in Canton, receiving an Award of Merit for five years of service there. She spent many of her final years caring for her sister Louise Bolster, who shared delivery duties for many meals to the elderly, and who predeceased her by just a few months. Annie enjoyed life-long learning and exploration, including fun and frustration on the world wide web. Annie was a member of the Women's Order of the Moose, the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Auxilary in Florida, and the American Legion Auxiliary in Canton. She was blessed with a circle of friends who gathered as the "Lunch Bunch" and "Wine Club"


She is survived by her son John DiMestico and his partner Peter of Parsonsfield, ME and her daughter Leah Huntington of Goldendale, WA., her sister Fredrica Johnson of Kingston, her sister-in-law and dear friend Louise Rudolph of East Bridgewater; one grandchild Roni Jensen of Centralia, WA and two great grandchildren.Also serveral nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late, Louis and Eugene and Albert Rudolph and Louise Bolster.

Her funeral will be held on Tuesday May 16th at 11:00A.M., in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Route 58 at the Rotary Circle) Whitman. Visiting hours Monday May 15th 5-7 and Tuesday May 16th 9-11 A.M., Burial will be at the MASS V.A. National Cemetery in Bourne, Ma. Visit www.blanchardfc.com
