Obituary

Major “Ellis” Camp, 83, of Carrabelle, Florida passed away Saturday, June 18, 2022, at his residence. His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 24, 2022, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Kenny Kicklighter officiating. Mr. Camp will be laid to rest at First Baptist Church of Ty Ty Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 23, 2022, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.

Born February 2, 1939, in Colquitt County, Mr. Camp was the son of the late Charles Millard Camp and Ola Mae Long Camp. He was also preceded in death by two sons and one daughter-in-law, Donald Camp and James Anthony and Patricia Camp; two brothers; and two sisters. He was a retired electrician and a member of the First Baptist Church of Ty Ty. He also served in the United States Coast Guard actively for four years and two years in the United States Coast Guard Reserves.

Mr. Camp is survived by his wife of 65 years, Barbara Marchant Camp of Carrabelle, Florida; four daughters and two sons-in-law, Diane and Scott Wolcott of Ocala, Florida, Lynn and Danny Palmer of Newton, Cynthia Camp and Sherry Camp, both of Carrabelle, Florida; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
