Wilson Fred Evans, 37, of Ocilla, Georgia, died Sunday, June 19, 2022, at his residence.
Graveside services will be held 10 AM, Tuesday, June 21, 2022, at Spring Hill Cemetery in Irwin County, Georgia, with the Rev. George Carroll Paulk officiating. The family will greet friends following the service at the cemetery.
Wilson was born September 27, 1984, in Fitzgerald, Georgia, to Fred & Susan Mercer Evans. He was a 2003 graduate of Irwin County High School where he was active in FFA and won a state horticulture contest. Wilson worked in healthcare and managed optometry practices. He loved his family dearly and enjoyed judging beauty pageants. He also enjoyed studying astrology.
He is survived by his parents, Fred & Susan Evans of Ocilla; a sister, Heather & Lee Smith of Fitzgerald; as well as nieces and nephews: Jerad Smith, Kayla Smith Rivas & Michael, Ryan Smith, and Rylee Smith; and a grandmother, Florine Mercer of Ocilla. Several aunts, uncles, and cousins also survive. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Shirley G. “Ola” Mixon.
