Obituary

Minnie (Andrews) Fermino, 97, of Mattapoisett died May 9, 2006 at home after a brief illness.
She was the widow of the late Charles Fermino, Sr.
Born in Mattapoisett, the daughter of the late Peter and Lena (deGrasse) Andrews, she was a lifelong resident.
Mrs. Fermino was a communicant of St. Anthony's Church.
She enjoyed listening to Cape Verdean music. Mrs. Fermino was recently bestowed the Boston Post Cane as Mattapoisett's oldest resident.
Survivors include three sons, Maurice "Mudgie" Tavares, Peter Fermino, and David Fermino, and his wife Victoria, all of Mattapoisett; a daughter, Caroline Sylvia, and her husband John, of Marion; a sister, Hilda Brito of Mattapoisett; two grandchildren, Karen Ramos-Bourne, and her husband Desmond, of Mattapoisett and Charles Sylvia of Providence; two great-grandchildren, Brittany Jackson of Providence and Graham Tuxworth of Mattapoisett.
She was the mother of the late Charles Fermino, Jr. and the sister of the late Annie Costa, Julia Greene, Mary Delgado, and Joseph Santos.
Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 50 County Rd. (Rt. 6), Mattapoisett, Saturday, May 13th at 9 AM. Funeral Mass at St. Anthony's Church at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Visiting hours Friday, May 12th from 4-8 PM.
Interment St. Anthony's Cemetery.
