Wanda Sparks, 72 years old, passed away at home on June 18, 2022 in Tifton, GA.
Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. on June 21, 2022, at Omega Church of God, 1471 Georgia Avenue, Omega GA 31775.
Wanda’s Home Going Celebration will be at 3:00 p.m., immediately following visitation, at Omega Church of God with the Rev. Rickey Wells and the Rev. Joseph L. Crumley as officiants. The service will be available on Facebook Live on the Facebook page for Omega Church of God. Burial will be at a later date with immediate family.
Wanda was born September 26, 1949, in Tifton, Georgia and graduated from Tift County High School and Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College (ABAC). She loved the Lord and served at Tift Avenue Church of God, Lenox Church of God, and Omega Church of God for 27 years as church secretary. She did bookkeeping and tax preparation for nearly 20 years. She worked in administration at ABAC and as a dispatcher at the Tift County Sheriff's Office. Known as mama, nana, wife, and “Sparky”, she was loving, thoughtful, never met a stranger, and always opened her home to people.
Wanda is preceded in death by Mildred Croy (mother), Jake Lyle Croy (father), John Sparks (father-in-law), Wynelle Sparks (mother-in-law), Donna Little (sister-in-law), and Peggy Blalock (aunt).
Wanda is survived by her husband, David Sparks; her children, Pamela Ahern (Brian), Joshua Romero (Heather); her grandchildren, Caitlin Ahern and Hunter Ahern; her bonus grandchild, Sheridan Byers (Will); her bonus great-grandchild, Daxton Byers; her brother-in-law, John Sparks (Gina); her sister-in-law, Christie Ford; a brother-in-law, David Little; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and Prayer Warriors, Jean Moore, Gladys Barber, Betty Smith, and Mary Barber.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Wade Crumley, John Nunes, Buster Herrington, Gary Suggs, Randall Waldrop, and Wally Barber.
