Dorothy F. (Perry) Guilherme, 78, of Fairhaven died August 5, 2002 unexpectedly at St. Luke's Hospital. She was the wife the late Antonio M. Guilherme and daughter of Frances (Hecner) Perry of New Bedford and the late Louis D. Perry.
Mrs. Guilherme was born in New Bedford and lived in Mattapoisett most of her life before moving to Fairhaven 4 years ago.
She was a communicant of St. Anthony's Church in Mattapoisett and Our Lady of the Assumption Church in New Bedford.
Mrs. Guilherme was formerly employed by several fish processing plants in New Bedford for many years until her retirement.
She enjoyed church and family activities, bible studies, and spending time with her grandchildren. Frequent shopping trips and visits with her granddaughter were particularly enjoyable to her.
Survivors include her mother; 2 sons, Wayne A. Guilherme of Braintree and John B. Guilherme, and his wife Kathy, of Mattapoisett; 2 daughters, Joyce A. Yokel, and her husband Kenny, of Mattapoisett and Patricia A. O'Brien of Dartmouth; 3 brothers, John Perry of Fairhaven, Louis Perry of Connecticut and William Perry of New Bedford; a sister, Carol Davis of Montana; 6 grandchildren, Richard Perry, Lloyd Perry, Jeffrey Guilherme, Dana Guilherme, Matthew Guilherme and Patrick Guilherme; a stepgrandson, Kenny Yokel, Jr.; 3 godchildren, Kenny Davis, JoAnn Taylor, and Ricky Ramos; several nieces and nephews.She was the mother of the late Lydia A. "Lee" Guilherme.
Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New BedfordThursday, August 8th at 9 AM.Funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Assumption Church at 10 AM.Relatives and friends are invited to attend.Visiting hours Wednesday, August 7th from 5-8 PM.Interment St. John's Cemetery.
