Obituary

Elaine M. Kelleher Jardin, 54, left this world peacefully at her home in New Bedford with her husband by her side on June 11, 2022. Her positive outlook and strong faith carried her through her courageous battle with lung cancer.

Elaine was born on November 27, 1967 in Malden, MA to Edward and Myra Kelleher. She graduated from South Weymouth High School Class of 1985 and later earned a Bachelor's of Science in Paralegal Studies from Suffolk University. Elaine enjoyed her work as a paralegal and legal assistant at Drohan Tocchio and Morgan as well as the Bank of Canton, and most recently at Rockland Trust Company where she worked as a retail loan portfolio analyst. Elaine was an active member at the Christian Fellowship Center in New Bedford, where she participated in her local women's group.

Elaine will be remembered for her generosity and selflessness which all began as a young girl when she volunteered as a candy striper at South Shore Hospital. She developed a love for volunteerism and was always giving to charity. Elaine was constantly brightening up somebody's day with her generous soul, but she especially loved to make children feel special. Elaine truly enjoyed traveling, spending time with her husband at their home in Florida, expressing her competitive nature at a game of scrabble, attending Boston sports events, showing off her lucky streak when playing bingo at the casino, and taking pictures to document the special memories she spent with family and friends.

Elaine is preceded in death by her father Edward Kelleher. Elaine is survived by her husband James Jardin; son Steven Kelleher; stepsons Jarrett Galarza and Michael Galarza and his wife Tina and their four children Michael Jr., Cole, Drew, and Halle; mother Myra Kelleher; siblings Kathleen Kelleher, Theresa Kelleher, Edmond Kelleher and his wife Michelle; sister-in-law Felicia Jardin; brother-in-law Robert Jardin and his wife Doreen; and nieces and nephews Thomas Martin and his son Julian, Katrina Doherty and her husband Darren and their children Ayla and Archie, Derek Alves and his wife Sydney, Jack Kelleher, Tempest Rosario, Cody Jardin, John Jardin and Alley Jardin. She is also survived by many loving Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and lifelong friends considered family.

Elaine's church service will be held on Friday, June 24, 2022 at 10:00am at the Christian Fellowship Center located at 822 Church St., New Bedford, MA.
