Obituary

MILLBURY: Alexander John Jozefowski, Jr. , 90, of Millbury, MA died peacefully on June 11, 2022 in his home.

Born in Worcester, MA, he was the son of Alexander J. Jozefowski Sr. and Helen (Golembiewski) Jozefowski. He is predeceased by his wife, Joanne T. (Wondolowski) Jozefowski. He leaves his son, Alex J. Jozefowski III, his daughter Robyn (Jozefowski) Marx; two grandchildren, Mitchell D. Jozefowski and Alexandra F. Schroeder. He is predeceased by his grandson, Eric Jozef Marx; his sisters, Helen Skroki, Sylvia Hall and Adele Naumowicz and his infant son, John.

Al graduated from the former Commerce High School, the New England Institute for Funeral Directing and Worcester Junior College. He was a longtime Funeral Director and owner of Alexander Memorial Chapel in Worcester, the business he assumed after his father. In his youth, he was a champion medal winner in swimming and diving for the Polish American Falcons. He served in the US Navy during the Korean War. He was stationed on the USS Leyte Aircraft Carrier and served in the Middle East and Europe. Al was a past commander of the Polish American Veterans of Worcester, MA.

An accomplished carpenter, he designed and built his family’s home. He could build and fix just about anything. He was well known for his love of dogs, of which he had many over the years.

Arrangements are under the care of HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward Street, Worcester. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Rescue League, 139 Holden St., Worcester, MA 01606.
