Jeanne "Lola" Shields, 65, passed away unexpectedly at home in Ventura on June 9, 2022.
Jeanne was born in Pennsylvania to Anna Jean and Walter F. Leoffler on August 22, 1956. She lived in a number of places where the U.S. Navy had a presence including Hawaii, Corpus Christi, Texas, and Point Mugu/ Oxnard area where the family finally settled.
Jeanne graduated from Channel Islands High School in Oxnard in 1974. Fast forward a few years Jeanne had her children by her side
when she received her Psychiatric Technician license to continue with her education to reach her goal as a Registered Nurse.
So awesome, mom! ?She worked as an RN until her departure.
Lola, as she liked her grandchildren to call her, was involved with the grandchildren's activities from basketball to football and a little softball in the middle. Clovis to Santee she was there. Parents or not.
A weeks worth of activity wouldn't be complete without a trip to the Rincon with husband Rick Shields for she loved the ocean.
Jeanne Shields is preceded in death by her daughter Rena Leoffler and parents Anna Jean and Walter F. Leoffler.
She is survived by her husband Rick Shields. Son and daughter-in-law Casey and Rachelle Leoffler. Brother and sister-in-law Frank and Kathy Leoffler . Niece Kimberly Leoffler. Brother John Leoffler.
Grandchildren Jade, Aila, and Miley Leoffler
and Jenna and James Blanks.
Family and friends are invited to visiting hours to be held Tuesday evening June 21, 2022 from 4pm-8pm at the BOYKO & REARDON TELEGRAPH ROAD MORTUARY & CREMATION, 15 Teloma Drive, Ventura, CA.
Funeral services will be on Friday June 24 at 11am at Ivy Lawn Memorial Park, 5400 Valentine Road, Ventura, CA.
All are welcome for both gatherings.
