Obituary

WEBSTER - Marcella (Penkala) Sniadach Szczepaniak, 81, passed away peacefully at Lanessa Extended Care on Friday, June 9, 2022.

She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Bernard J. Szcepaniak; a son, David Sniadach of Tallahasse, FL; 2 sisters, Wanda Peloquin of Swansea and Regina Duval of Millbury; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Edward Sniadach, by her son, Kevin J. Szczepaniak, and by 3 brothers, Henry Penkala, Chester Penkala and Vincent Penkala, Jr.

She was born at home in Dudley on September 3, 1940, the youngest of the 6 children of Vincent J. Penkala, Sr. and Stella (Jankowski) Penkala. She lived in Webster for many years.

Marcy was employed by Bates Shoe Company and later by Price Chopper until she retired.

Beyond family, Marcy was devoted to her church Saint Joseph Basilica and was a member of the Holy Rosary Sodality. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, cooking, baking and gardening.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, June 30, at 11:00 AM in the Saint Joseph Basilica, 53 Whitcomb Street. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to the American Cancer Society (for colorectal cancer research), 3 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701. Arrangements are under the direction of Sitkowski, Malboeuf and Hickey Funeral Home, 340 School Street, Webster.
