LEICESTER: Gloria A. (Millette) Power, 91, formerly of Folsom Street died Tuesday June 14 in Quaboag Rehabilitation and Long Term Care Center, West Brookfield.
Her husband Robert P. Power died in 2018. She leaves a daughter; Michele Giroux and her husband Rodney of Spencer, two sons; Robert Power of Spencer and Christopher Power and his wife Justine of Cherry Valley, six grandchildren; Amanda, Chelsea, Emily, Fahlin, Nathan & Nolan, two great grandchildren; Jordan & Killian, a brother Arthur Millette and his wife Sandra of Vermont. She was predeceased by a daughter Dorothea Power, five brothers; Armand, Gerry, Donald, Robert & Clem Millette and two sisters: Theresa DuPont & Annette Hernandez
Gloria was born in Leominster, daughter of Arthur J. and Clara A. (Rivard) Millette. She graduated from St. Bernard’s High School in Fitchburg and Leominster Hospital School of Nursing. She was a registered nurse at Fairlawn Hospital for many years before retiring. She was a member of St. Joseph-St. Pius X Parish where she was a Eucharistic Minister, a CCD teacher and an altar server. She enjoyed painting rocks and thrift shopping. She worked for several years at St. Vincent de Paul after retiring. She volunteered for several years at Thanksgiving serving meals for Catholic Charities. The family would like to thank the staff on 3B at Quaboag Rehabilitation and Skilled care Center for their kind and compassionate care they gave to Gloria.
The funeral will be held on Saturday, June 18 from MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main Street, Leicester with a Mass at 10:00 am in St. Pius X Church, 1153 Main Street, Leicester. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Leicester. A calling hour will precede the funeral from 8:30-9:30 AM in the funeral home.
