Robert L. Boyle, 82 of Marion died August 4, 2002 at Tobey Hospital after a long courageous battle with cancer.
He was the husband of Janet E. (Lacerda) Boyle.
Mr. Boyle was born in Fairfield, CT and lived in Auburn, MA for 20 years before moving to Marion 2 years ago. He summered in Nantucket.
He was the president of Robert L. Boyle and Associates, having had a distinguished career in real estate development.
Mr. Boyle served in the US Marines during World War II. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Nantucket Post and the International Council of Shopping Centers. He held a private pilots license and enjoyed flying.
Survivors include his wife; 2 sons, Robert L. Boyle, Jr. and John E. Boyle, both of Keene, NY; 2 daughters, Lieutenant Colonel Emily Andrew of Hanscom Air Force Base and Deborah Bunn of New Zealand; a brother, William Boyle of New Town, CT; 5 grandchildren.
He was the father of the late Karen Boyle.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Service in the Saunders-Dwyer Mattapoisett Home For Funerals, 50 County Rd. (Route 6), Mattapoisett Tuesday, August 6th at 12:30 PM.
Visiting hours Tuesday, August 6th from 11:30 AM - 12:30 PM.
Interment Massachusetts National Cemetery.
