Robert W. Campagna, 83, died Tuesday Morning, May 9, at the Tippett House in Needham after a short illness. He was the husband of the late Catherine M. (Balsamo) Campagna. Born in Boston, he was a graduate of East Boston High School and Lowell Tech in Lowell. He was a WWII Veteran of the US Navy. Mr. Campagna worked as a Civil Engineer for the Massachusetts Department of Public Works in the Contracts and Qualifications Department in Boston for 58 years. An avid fan of the New York Yankees, Mr. Campagna enjoyed “Brownie Patrol” on Friday Evenings at Jeveli’s Restaurant in East Boston for many years. He also enjoyed playing the lottery, especially scratch tickets.
He is survived by his three daughters, Diane C. Ahern and Jeanne M. Massaro both of Canton and Judy P. Moore and her husband Michael of Holliston. He was predeceased by 12 brothers and sisters. Mr. Campagna is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, many in-laws, nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Friday at 9 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Gerard Majella Church, Canton at 10 AM. Visiting Hours Thursday 4-8 PM. Donations in Bob’s name may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, 01701. Burial will follow at Canton Corner Cemetery, Canton.
