Obituary

Louise Laub Pike, 73, passed away on June 6, 2022 in the arms of her husband at their home in Prosser, WA after a courageous battle with cancer.

Louise was born on January 9, 1949 in St. George, UT to Gaydra and Val Laub. She attended and graduated from Bonneville HS in Ogden, UT where she met her future husband, Keith, at a Christmas dance. They were married on December 13, 1968 in the Utah Logan Temple. Louise and her growing family lived in Ogden, UT, Laramie, WY, and Lincoln, NE as Keith continued his education. Eventually, they planted their roots in Prosser, WA in 1976 where Keith worked for Washington State University, Department of Entomology.

Louise loved spending time with her family, whenever possible. She loved spending time outdoors and sharing her love for the Washington Coast and other faraway lands. She was an avid reader of scripture and other good books, hiker, camper, and explorer, ever supportive of her husband's entomological work. She loved to cook, bake, eat, and share with those around her. As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served in various callings including President of the Primary, Young Women, Relief Society, and Seminary Teacher. Her service extended to the mission field as she lived and served at the Historic Kirtland Visitors Center in Ohio and The Polynesian Cultural Center at Laie, Hawaii. She always tried to pass her positivity on to everyone she met, even during her fight with cancer; her smile was contagious and her love was felt by everyone.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband Keith Pike, her children, Jennifer Holbrook (Jon), Ryan Pike (Chelsea), Lisa King (Tim), and Tara Bailey (Bryan), as well as her mother Gaydra Laub, and her siblings Sandra, Don, David, Darrel, Doug, and Cheryl. She has 15 grandchildren and one great-grandson. She is preceded in death by her father Val Laub, and a grandson Porter Holbrook.

Memorial services will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on June 13, 2022 at 11:00 am. Graveside dedication will take place following services at the Prosser Cemetery.
