Javonne “Jay” Damian Augmon, of Groton, CT died unexpectedly on Sunday, May 29, 2022. He was 27 years old.
Jay was born on February 9, 1995 in New London, CT to Kathleen Reagan of Groton, CT and Kevin Augmon, of New London, CT. He graduated from Fitch High School in 2013. Jay served in the USMC, where he was an expert rifleman. He most recently worked as a solar panel installer.
Jay is survived by his parents, his maternal grandmother, Janice Reagan of North Stonington, CT, paternal grandmother, Ginger Augmon, his half-sister, Hahkiesh Augmon-Smith of New London, CT and a half-brother, Khalil Augmon of East Hartford, CT. Jay had many loving aunts, uncles and cousins who considered him more as a grandson, son or brother.
Jay made friends wherever he went, and because of his kind and compassionate heart; he considered his friends, his family. Besides spending time with family and friends, Jay had a great love of movies, music and sports. He was an avid fan of the NY Yankees, NY Giants, LA Lakers and Duke basketball, where he enjoyed watching his teams win many championships throughout his life.
At Jay’s request, there will be no funeral or memorial service. Instead, he asked that his friends and loved ones listen to songs he loved and remember him. A celebration of Jay’s life will be held at a later date for family and friends.
