In Taunton, Christine “Pug” Seekell, age 51, passed away peacefully in Morton Hospital on June 6, 2022 from a brief illness while surrounded by her loving family. Christine was born in Taunton, the daughter of Carolyn (White) Seekell and her late father David G. Seekell.
After graduating from high school in 1988, she enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps fielding in legal services. Honoring the motto “Once a Marine- always a Marine” her brother David, nephew Justin could always hear her Semper Fi around them.
Following her honorable discharge and being the people person that she was Christine became an EMT with Alert Ambulance followed by working as a residential counselor with BAMSI. Without a doubt she was someone who would always be there for others from lending a helping hand to giving neutral advice, She would always be just a phone call away, in her eyes showing that others always came first.
Christine was an avid wrestling fan, rooting for her all time favorite, Stone Cold Steve Austin. She was also an animal lover of cats, currently to Kaz and Brock. Her biggest accomplishment was being the mother to son Corey Travis Seekell. She would tell you the greatest 31 years of her life were him. She was mother, friend now guardian angel, He was her world.
Christine also leaves behind her mother Carolyn, sister Jean, brothers David F. his wife Josie & John Coe, nephews Brandon and his wife Amy Justin and his wife Kristina niece Julianne and fiancé Garrett, great niece Carolyn Christine & Sofia along with several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She was also the former wife of David E. Palmer.
Funeral home visiting hours will be held at the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St., Taunton, MA 02780 on Monday, June 20th from 5-8pm. Her burial will be at the Bourne National Cemetery with military honors on Tuesday at 2pm on June 21st. In lieu of flowers donations in Christine’s memory may be made to the Taunton D.A.V. Chapter 57, 5-7 Taunton Green, Taunton, MA, 02780.
