AUBURN___Genevieve M. (Zvalauskas) Puris, 95, of Auburn and formerly of Worcester passed away on Tuesday June 7, 2022 in her home. Her husband of 60 years, Paul P. Puris died in 2009.
She leaves her children, Richard P. Puris and his wife Diana, Philip J. Puris and his wife, Gail and Karen A. Shearns and her husband, Chuck, four grandchildren, Elizabeth Puris, Kristina Puris, Kayla Shearns and Olivia Shearns and many nieces and nephews. Genevieve was also predeceased by her daughter, Janice Saucedo and two sisters, Angela “Nellie” Parulis and Mary “Miki” Sundin. She was born and raised in Worcester a daughter of the late Alexander and Mary (Silvanavicius) Zvalauskas and lived in Worcester for most of her life until moving to Auburn seven years ago.
Mrs. Puris was a Customer Service Representative many years for Paul Revere Life Insurance Co., and retired many years ago. She was a member of the former St. Casimir Church and Council 26 Knights of Lithuania. Genevieve was very active at the Eddy Pond community and loved her daily crossword puzzles.
The funeral will be held on Friday, June 10, 2022 from HENRY – DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward St, Worcester with a Mass at 12:00 PM in St. John’s Church, 40 Temple St, Worcester. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester. Calling hours in the funeral home are Friday, June 10, 2022 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM.
