Barbara M. Buckley, 96, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 26, at her home at Penacook Place in Haverhill. She was the widow of the late Frederick Buckley.
Daughter of the late Emil and Avah Bernson, Barbara was born in Tewksbury on May 19, 1926. She was raised in Tewksbury and graduated from Tewksbury High School.
Barbara was a loving and devoted mother who stayed home and raised her two children and two stepchildren. She enjoyed painting, puzzles, and traveling, especially to London to visit her son and his family. Above all else, spending time with family and creating happy memories was her favorite pastime.
She is survived by her daughter, JoAnne Pappas; her son, David Buckley and daughter in law, Sharon Buckley; and her son, Fred Buckley and daughter in law, Carol Buckley. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Tracy Frederick and her husband Seth Strauser, William Frederick and his wife, Toni Frederick, Aodhan Buckley, and Gabriella Buckley; and her 5 great grandchildren.
Barbara was predeceased by her sister, the late Ella Thomas.
All are welcome to attend her visitation on Saturday, June 11 from 3 - 4 p.m. with her funeral service at 4 p.m. at the TEWKSBURY FUNERAL HOME, 1 DEWEY STREET, TEWKSBURY, MA 01876 - 978-851-2061.
