Obituary

LOWELL—Estelle M. (Forsythe) Taylor, 85 years old, died Tuesday evening at the Fairhaven Nursing Home, in Lowell. She was the wife of the late John H. Taylor, former Lowell Police Officer, who died in December 17, 1995. They were married for 56 years.

She was born in Lowell, on March 24, 1917, a daughter of the late James and Sarah J. (Guthrie) Forsythe. She was a graduate of the Immaculate Conception Girls High School, and Lowell Commercial College.

Mrs. Taylor was employed as a Secretary at M.C.I. Concord in the Treasurer’s Office. After her retirement she worked at the Lowell Council on Aging under the direction of the late Sam Kew.

Surviving her are six children and their spouses: James P. and Catherine Taylor, of North Haven, CT; John H. and Elizabeth Taylor, of Bedford, MA; Linda Mellen, of Wilbraham; Estelle, and Al Miller, of Plymouth, MN; Bruce “Zeke” Taylor, of Clearwater, FL; and Elizabeth O’Neill, of Mashpee; a sister: Ruth Brown, of Rockton, PA; a brother-in-law: James E. Taylor, retired LPD, of Worcester; 15 grandchildren 17 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was the sister of the late Marietta Clark Marshall, who died in 1999.

Friends may call from 10 to 11 AM on Wednesday, August 7th, at the MAHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 187 Nesmith Street, (Rte. 38). A Funeral Service will follow at 11 AM At the funeral home. Burial in St. Mary Cemetery, Tewksbury.
