Obituary

“Beloved Mother, Grandmother and well known area DJ”

Nancy V. (Kosakowski) Penney, 72, died after a long illness on Tuesday, May 31 at Lowell General Hospital with her daughter by her side. She was the widow of William Anthony Penney who passed away in November of 2000 after 33 years of marriage.

A daughter of the late Charles Kosakowski and the late Wanda (Costis) Kosakowski, she was born on November 14, 1949 in Chelsea. She was raised and educated in the Chelsea area and was a graduate of Chelsea High School.

Nancy’s life was her family and her music. She worked as a professional DJ for well over 20 years in the area before her retirement in 2012. She was a mainstay at the Knights of Columbus in Tewksbury, providing music every Christmas. She also worked parties, functions and countless other events as a private DJ. She was even employed as a DJ for some of the colleges and universities in the New England area, among those, Brandeis University in Waltham. The only thing more important than her music, was her family, especially her beloved granddaughter.

She is survived by her daughter, Angela Penney of Peabody, her granddaughter, Eryn McCarter Penney of Tewksbury and Eryn's father, Robert McCarter also of Tewksbury.
Her funeral services will be held privately at a later date. Arrangements by TEWKSBURY FUNERAL HOME, 1 Dewey Street, Tewksbury, MA 01876 - 978-851-2061. Please consider a memorial donation in her name to the MSPCA at www.mspca.org to help in the fight for kindness and care towards animals.
