Obituary

Robert “Bobby” Calabro, 83, of Whitman MA formerly of Water Street in Quincy died peacefully Tuesday May 31st 2022 at the Brockton Veterans Hospital. Robert was born in Quincy to the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Celata) Calabro where he was raised and educated. He was proud to have served in the United States Army. Bobby then went on to work for many years as a laborer for Celco Construction.

Anyone who knew Bobby well, knew about his love for music and dancing. He could often be found out in his car with his music at full blast. He was an avid Boston Bruins fan and enjoyed watching them on the ice. Bobby also loved to garden and would plant beautiful flowers and tomato plants every spring. However, Bobby’s truest passion was his family. He could always be found talking with a family member or with his wife, Judi. He loved to tell stories of his youth and he was a great conversationalist. He would make people laugh and he had a huge heart.

Bobby is survived by his devoted wife of 59 years Judith Calabro. Beloved father of John and his wife Diane Calabro of Hanover, daughter Susan and husband Peter Poirier of Quincy, daughter Cynthia and husband Paul Kearns of Whitman, and the late Elizabeth “Lisa” Calabro. Cherished Papa of James, Maria and Nicholas Calabro; Jaclyn, Paul, Christopher and Sophia Kearns; Brian, Bailee and the late Theresa Ann Poirier.

Beloved brother to his thirteen siblings Lorraine Roberts of Braintree and Frances Bullock of Weymouth. He was predeceased by Angelina Ryan, Anthony Calabro, Marie Walsh, Samuel Calabro, Joseph Calabro, Elizabeth "Lilly" Iacobacci, John Calabro, Michael Calabro, Ann Calabro, Stephen Calabro and Richard “Dicky” Calabro. Robert is also survived by his many nieces and nephews. He will truly be missed by anyone who knew him.

A private service will be held at the family’s request. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.
