Bruce A. Mills

TEWKSBURY: Bruce A. Mills, age 87, a resident of Tewksbury for 56 years, passed away peacefully at the High Pointe Hospice House in Haverhill on Tuesday, May 31, 2022 surrounded by family.
He was the beloved husband of Patricia A. (Lamore) Mills, with whom he celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on February 4, 2022.
Born in Boston on January 27, 1935, he was the son of the late Marie A. (St. Sauveur) Mills, who passed away in 1962, and the late Bruce L. Mills and his late wife Dorothy E. (Paine) Mills.
Bruce was raised in Brookline and graduated from Brookline High School.
In 1955, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served for two years in active duty. Following his honorable discharge from active service, Bruce served in the U.S. Army Reserve until 1963.
He was employed as a letter carrier by the U.S. Postal Service in Waltham and worked at the McLean Hospital in Belmont until his retirement.
Bruce was an avid New England sports fan and loved following the New England Patriots and the Boston Red Sox. He also enjoyed vegetable gardening and playing games of chance.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his four children, Bruce A. Mills, Jr. and his wife Carole, of Plaistow, NH, John E. Mills, of Salem, NH, James R. Mills and his wife Judy, of Bradford, MA, and Kathryn A. Ascolillo and her husband Scott, of Tewksbury: eleven grandchildren, Kevin, Rachael, Brian, Devan, Eric, and Brandon Mills, Anthony and Angelina Ascolillo, Vanessa Duffy and Scottie Ascolillo, Jr.: two great grandchildren, Tyler and Charlie Duffy.
Calling hours are Sunday, June 5, from 2-6 p.m. at Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. Funeral services will be held Monday, June 6, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment to follow at Gethsemane Cemetery, W. Roxbury. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Dana-Farber Jimmy Fund at www.jimmyfund.org
