Emmett Wayne Jaynes, 87, of Anderson, passed away on May 28, 2022 at Community Hospital following a brief illness. He was born on August 10, 1934 in Switzerland County, IN, the son of Emmett Earl and Ethel (Swango) Jaynes.
Emmett was employed for 47 years at US Shoe in Madison. He served in the US Army and was a member of the VFW. He was a member of Meadowbrook Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Nell (Andrew) Jaynes; his children, Dennis (Lisa) Jaynes and Mary Nell Jaynes; four grandchildren, Josh Milburn, Tyler Jaynes, Travis Jaynes, and Taylor Jaynes; eight great grandchildren.
Emmett was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, and a grandson, Daniel Wayne Milburn.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 2, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Pastor Dennis Zirkle officiating. Burial will follow at East Maplewood Cemetery.
Visitation will be held also on Thursday from Noon until 2:00 PM
Memorial contributions may be given to Meadowbrook Baptist Church.
