New Bedford – Rosa P. Arvelo, age 86, passed away peacefully on May 25, 2022 at St. Luke’s Hospital.
Rosa spent her first 14 years in Cova Gala, Portugal and then migrated to Argentina, where she lived for the next 15 years. In 1980, she migrated again, this time to the United States, where she remained for the rest of her life.
She was a loving housewife all of her life, raising the younger generation with all of her love and patience.
Rosa is survived by her son, João Manuel DaSilva; grandchildren, Nyle, Luke and Jesley. She leaves behind a number of nieces and nephews in New Bedford, Argentina and Canada. She was predeceased by her husband, Manuel “Curruca” Silva and her daughter, Ivone Maria Pereira DaSilva.

Rosa’s visiting hours and funeral service will take place on Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at Perry Funeral Home. Visiting hours will be held from 9:00 A.M. – 10:00 A.M. with a service to begin at 10:00 A.M. Burial will immediately follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.
