Obituary

David R. Johnson age 65, of Arlington, formerly of Winchester, passed away at home on May 24, 2022. He was the cherished husband to Maureen Quinn,and the loving father to Christine “Lou Lou” Johnson. He was predeceased by his parents James A. Johnson, Jr. and Dorothy F. Johnson and his brother Richard F. Johnson. Brother to James A. Johnson, III and his wife Barbara. Uncle to James A. Johnson IV and his wife Jennifer, Robert Johnson and his finance, Melissa, and Jennifer and her husband Bryan Penquite. Brother-in-law to Deborah and Andrea Benassi, Susan and Paul Rosie and Michael Quinn, Robert Quinn and his wife Megan and Stephen Quinn. He is further survived by several additional nieces and nephews.

David grew up in Winchester and was the owner of Lowbed Johnson’s construction equipment transportation business, which he successfully operated for 39 years. David had a kind and generous heart, never hesitating to help others. He was selfless in nature and could be counted on to jump in when anyone needed assistance. He was quick witted and brought great joy to those around him. David was a wonderful husband and father. He was an avid boater and took great pleasure in captaining his houseboat and tugboat in the Boston harbor and Mystic lakes with his wife Maureen. David was an amateur auto race car driver who loved the thrill of the track. David loved animals; he and his dog Ruby had a special bond. David will be greatly missed.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, May 31 at 11:00 at St. Mary’s Church, 155 Washington St., Winchester. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend and are asked to meet directly at the church. Burial is private.
