Paul R. Dumas, 87, of New Bedford quietly passed away on Thursday May 12, 2022 in Port Charlotte, Florida after a brief illness. He was the son of the late Hector and Flore Dumas.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Jean (Seddon) Dumas and three children, Paula Long (Stephen), Robert Dumas (Dolores), and Lisa Calnan (John). He was the proud grandfather of six grandchildren, Daniel Long, Timothy Long, Michael Dumas, Jeffrey Dumas, Ian Calnan and Elizabeth Calnan. He dearly loved his eight great grandchildren, Abigale, Cooper, Kingston, William, Lola, Jagger, Calla, and Shay.
He was predeceased by two brothers, Raymond and Roland Dumas, and his nephew Raymond Dumas.
Paul worked for Freddy Dee's Narragansett Sales and retired from Bristol County Third District Court. He was a devoted volunteer at United Way of Greater New Bedford and was always willing to give a helping hand to others in need.
He and Jean spent many enjoyable winters with their friends in North Port, Florida.
