Obituary

Henry J. DeSellier, age 94, passed away on May 21, 2022 at Baystate Medical Center. He was born on July 26, 1927 in Springfield, a son of the late Homer and Helen (Bergman) DeSellier. He graduated from Commerce High School in 1945 and was drafted into the Army Air Corps during WWII. He was a Master Electrician and worked most of his life as a landlord to a large apartment building in Springfield. He was a member of the Cyclonauts Bicycle Club of Springfield, the Knights of Columbus Council 4044 Castle of Knights, and the Chicopee Moose Lodge Chapter 1849. Henry was very active in the Western Mass Republicans and was a delegate to the Republican National Convention. He enjoyed dancing, socializing, and being outdoors. Henry is survived by his life partner of over 53 years, Sandra M. (Goodwin) Sparks of Chicopee; two sons, Gary DeSellier of New York City and James DeSellier and his wife Cynthia of Chicopee; three daughters, Tami DeSellier of Oakland, CA, Wendy Lane and her husband Ronald of West Springfield and Susan Dion of West Springfield; seven grandchildren; one great grandchild; along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family who will miss him dearly. Calling hours will be held on the morning of the funeral, Thursday, May 26, 2022 from 9:00 – 11:00 AM at the Grise Funeral Home, 280 Springfield St, Chicopee followed by an in house Prayer Service at 11:00 AM.
