Barbara A. Cavanaugh, of Wakefield, formerly of Malden, May 21st. Beloved wife of the late Robert J. Cavanaugh. Mother of Barbara Cavanaugh of Wakefield, Robert Cavanaugh and his wife Martha of Peabody, Patricia McLaughlin and her husband Daniel of Norwell, Mary Hanley and her husband Scott of Wakefield, Joseph Cavanaugh and his wife Julia of Wenham and Nancy Stekl and her husband William of Amherst. Grandmother of Caroline, Kaitlyn, Samantha, Andrew, Courtney, Matthew, Colin, Colleen, Julia, Greta and Ada. Sister of the late Marie Fitzpatrick, Dorothy Hall, Warren Hall and Phyllis Drew. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Barbara was raised and educated Malden. She is a graduate of Cheverus Elementary School and Cheverus High School. For many years, she worked as a Teller at the Malden Savings Bank. She was formerly an active member of the Irish American Association in Malden. Relatives & friends are invited to attend her funeral from the Breslin Funeral Home, 610 Pleasant St., Malden on Friday May 27th at 8:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass celebrated at Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant St., Malden at 10 AM. Services will conclude with interment in Forest Glade Cemetery in Wakefield. Visitation will be held at the funeral home prior to the Mass on Friday only. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Cheverus School, 30 Irving St., Malden, MA 02148. Barbara’ family has requested that mask are to be worn during the services.
